NHH Handy
Hi! I’m NHH Handy! I am living my retirement with a fun couple who have two teenage boys! They are all the greatest. They take me on walks and love me a lot. I always stay with them whether hiking or riding horses. They say I am so sweet and I have not had one “oops” in the house. I sure love those boys and they love me right back!
Some foxhounds look for retirement homes because they need a place to rest when they are older. I just flat out didn’t really like to hunt, so I stayed with the riders in the field during hunts. That didn’t sit well with the other hounds, so the huntsman started looking for a new place for me to live when I was about 4 years old. With learning about my crate, my house training went fairly smoothly. I love my crate and sleep in it at night in my people’s bedroom.
I’m not the first foxhound that my people have had. When I first came, they had another retired foxhound, Jasmine, that lived with them too. She showed me the ropes and lived out her days in happiness and with a grateful heart. Before I came, when they had only her, she was so good that they wanted another one, and that’s me! They tell me all the time that I have a very kind, sweet personality.
I get to go to baseball and soccer games where I am joyously mobbed by small children who love to take me on walks. What fun! I am so obedient and gentle on a leash that several people have asked who trained me! Trained me? Nope, I am just a polite girl, thank you very much. I am beloved by all who meet me! I hope you’ll consider adopting a foxhound!
